About Start Small Dream Big
The Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) Movement initiated by ECDA, aims to nurture positive values and social-emotional development in preschoolers through meaningful community service projects. Participating preschools, in collaboration with parents and community partners, design and implement initiatives that provide children with hands-on opportunities to put values into action. SSDB champions Values-in-Action for preschoolers, aligned with service-learning pedagogy and thoughtfully adapted for young children. Through real-life experiences, children are encouraged to live out the values of kindness, empathy, and responsibility alongside their preschools, families, and community partners. Participating centres are encouraged to work with parents and the community to design and implement community service projects over a period of six months. In 2025, more than 100,000 preschoolers from over 1,300 preschools participated in Start Small Dream Big. We believe that children are never too young to contribute to the community. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something
